The Marais is home to a large number of historical places. There are many private mansions from the 17th century but also grandiose buildings such as the town hall and famous squares such as the Place des Vosges, the oldest square in Paris.


The cultural places are also innumerable. With the George Pompidou center, its monumental structure and its architecture with colored tubes. It houses the largest French collection of modern and contemporary art.

You will also discover the Carnavalet museum, the house of Victor Hugo, the Picasso museum with a selection of his most beautiful artworks and many art galleries.

The BHV Marais is an emblematic building of Parisian commerce. It shelters big brands of ready-to-wear. Many stores of all kinds are located in the surroundings, as well as a lot of thrift shops and concept stores.


Finally, the Marais is a district that hosts many restaurants of all nationalities. If you want to eat French, we suggest you go to Petit Bouillon Pharamond, Glou or Robert and Louise.

You can also choose a Parisian brasserie, or eat a crepe, noodles or a bagel to take away.
